1. Who we are

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the website and educational services provided by f.a.x. 2. Acceptance of terms

By accessing this website or requesting enrollment in any course, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the website or services.

3. Services and educational purpose

  • We provide education-only programs focused on communication skills, including public speaking, business interaction, negotiation, team communication, and professional correspondence.
  • Programs are tailored for learners across Canada; the company operates from the Netherlands.
  • We do not provide professional, financial, legal, immigration, or career guarantees. Outcomes depend on each participant’s individual effort.

4. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or have verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian.
  • You confirm that the information you provide during inquiries or enrollment is accurate and complete.
  • We may refuse or cancel an enrollment request at our discretion, for example in cases of capacity limits, misuse, or non-compliance with these Terms.

5. Enrollment process

  • To request enrollment, complete the website form available via the Contact or course pages. Submission does not guarantee a seat.
  • We will confirm availability, schedule options, and next steps by email.
  • Access to materials is provided after confirmation and, where applicable, receipt of payment.

6. Fees, currency, and taxes

  • Unless expressly stated otherwise, prices and invoices are issued in EUR (€). Any currency references on this website, where applicable, are in EUR.
  • Taxes (including VAT, if applicable under Dutch law) may be charged in addition to the course fee.
  • You are responsible for any bank or transfer fees and for any exchange-rate differences if paying from outside the eurozone.

7. Cancellations and refunds

  • Our default policy is that confirmed enrollments can be rescheduled once, subject to availability, if requested at least 7 calendar days before the start date.
  • If you are an EU consumer, you may have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts under Dutch and EU consumer rules, except where you have expressly agreed that the service begins within the withdrawal period or where digital materials are made available immediately. If applicable, we will process refunds to the original payment method.
  • After the course start or after accessing protected course materials, fees may be non-refundable except as required by law.

8. Learner conduct

  • Participate respectfully in sessions and discussions. Do not harass, discriminate, or disrupt learning.
  • Do not record, photograph, or distribute course sessions or materials without prior written permission.
  • Do not share access links, passwords, or materials with anyone else.
  • Use the website only for lawful purposes and do not attempt to compromise security, interfere with the website, or scrape content.

9. Intellectual property

  • All course content, text, graphics, videos, handouts, and trademarks are owned by f.a.x. Translations B.V. or its licensors.
  • We grant enrolled learners a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use materials for personal study during the course. Any reproduction, distribution, public display, or derivative works are prohibited without written permission.

10. Certificates and accreditation

  • We may issue a record of participation or completion. Such documents are not an academic degree, professional license, or government accreditation.
  • Employers or institutions may set their own recognition criteria, which are outside our control.

11. Privacy and cookies

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookies Policy. By using the website, you consent to such processing and technologies.

12. Third‑party tools

We may use third‑party platforms (for example, video conferencing or payment processors). Your use of such platforms may be subject to their separate terms and privacy notices. We are not responsible for third‑party services.

  • Our total aggregate liability for claims arising out of or related to the services shall not exceed the amount you paid to us for the course giving rise to the claim.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Dutch law.

15. Changes to the website or terms

  • We may modify or discontinue courses, schedules, or content at any time.
  • We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect upon posting on this page. Your continued use of the website or services after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts in the Netherlands.
